Industrial 3D Printed Parts

RapidPrintParts is an industrial 3D printing manufacturer based in Shenzhen, China. We focus on utilizing additive manufacturing to produce functional industrial parts that are built to be used. Whether the requirement is for engineering validation, bridge production before tooling, or rapid replacement of obsolete components, we evaluate actual operating requirements to recommend the most appropriate polymer or resin process.

Applications for Functional 3D Printed Parts

We produce 3D printed parts for real engineering applications rather than consumer models based solely on appearance. Our production supports product development cycles, low-volume manufacturing, and spare-parts programs across several key sectors:

Machinery and Automation OEMs

Custom fixtures, guards, ducts, and brackets designed for new machines or fast customization.

Robotics and Integrators

End-of-arm tooling (EOAT), grippers, and sensor brackets for line upgrades and rapid iteration.

Industrial Hardware

Functional prototypes and low-volume end-use parts for EVT/DVT/PVT stages and pre-tooling builds.

MRO and Spare Parts

Urgent, low-quantity replacements for obsolete components or discontinued OEM parts to minimize downtime.

Contract Manufacturing

Overflow capacity or specialized process fulfillment to bridge production gaps.

Core In-House Additive Manufacturing Processes

Selecting the right process depends on part complexity, volume, and mechanical requirements. RapidPrintParts operates dedicated in-house equipment for polymer and resin manufacturing.

FDM / FFF

18 Machines

Ideal for fixtures, large structures, and equipment parts.

  • Build Envelope: Up to ~1,000 × 600 × 600 mm
  • Tolerance: ±0.2 mm or ±0.3%
  • Materials: ABS, ASA, PC, PA, PA-CF, PETG, TPU, PEEK

SLA

8 Machines

Best suited for high-detail prototypes and fit/appearance validation.

  • Build Envelope: Up to ~600 × 600 × 400 mm
  • Tolerance: ±0.1 mm or ±0.2%
  • Materials: Various engineering resins

SLS

10 Machines

Designed for complex, durable nylon parts and low-volume production without support structures.

  • Build Envelope: Up to ~380 × 380 × 600 mm
  • Tolerance: ±0.3 mm or ±0.3%
  • Materials: PA12, PA11, TPU

MJF

4 Machines

Optimized for low-volume end-use and functional nylon parts requiring consistent isotropic properties.

  • Build Envelope: Up to ~380 × 284 × 380 mm
  • Tolerance: ±0.2 mm or ±0.3%
  • Materials: PA12, PA11, PA12 GF, TPU

Note: Guaranteed tolerance for any process requires engineering review.

Material Selection and Post-Processing

Industrial 3D printed parts often require secondary operations to meet assembly, environmental, or aesthetic criteria. Our available materials include ABS, ASA, PETG, PC, PA6/PA12, PA-CF/PA-GF, TPU, PEEK, PEKK, PEI/ULTEM, and engineering resins.

To ensure parts meet final functional requirements, post-processing and functional finishing may include:

  • • Blasting, sanding, and polishing
  • • Vapor smoothing
  • • Dyeing and painting
  • • Marking
  • • Hardware installation (inserts, tapping, drilling)
  • • CNC secondary machining for critical mating surfaces

Quality Documentation and Inspection

Reliability is critical for functional prototypes and bridge-production components. When agreed upon for the project, quality support may include:

  • First article inspection (FAI)
  • Dimensional inspection reports
  • Material documents
  • Certificates of conformity (CoC)
  • Shipment reports

Design Inputs and Engineering Review

Additive manufacturing offers extensive design freedom, but successful industrial application requires careful evaluation of limitations and operating environments. To fast-track project qualification and ensure the right process is selected, our engineering team evaluates eight core inputs:

  1. 01

    Application and Operating Environment

What is the part used for, and what performance does it need?

  2. 02

    Quantity and Repeat Demand

How many are required, and is there potential for project batches or part families?

  3. 03

    Material Requirement

Specific polymer or resin performance needs.

  4. 04

    Critical Dimensions and Tolerances

    Identifying critical-to-function areas.

  5. 05

    Environmental Stressors

Load, temperature, chemical exposure, flame retardancy, or ESD requirements.

  6. 06

    Finish and Post-Processing

Surface roughness and secondary assembly needs.

  7. 07

    Target Lead Time

    Project milestones or expedite requirements.

  8. 08

    Technical Files

Provision of STEP/STP files alongside a 2D drawing (and NDA requirements if applicable).

Request an Engineering Review

If you are developing functional prototypes, sourcing replacement parts, or planning low-volume production, contact our engineering team. By providing your CAD (STEP/STP) files, 2D drawings, and clear application requirements, RapidPrintParts can evaluate your design, confirm tolerances, and recommend the most effective 3D printing process for your project.
